Barchart Launches On-Demand Historical Data Feed Service Service provides access to extensive tick, bar and daily time series data CHICAGO, IL – July 13, 2010 – Barchart.com, Inc., a leading provider of market data and information, today announced the launch of a new high-powered historical market data feed service which provides on-demand access to historical market data for institutions and individuals. The service is accessible via Barchart’s proprietary historical data API using web services and allows access to extensive sets of historical futures, stock, forex and index market data. The service can be integrated into third-party front-end applications for charting, back-testing and analysis, as well as into middle and back-office systems that are used for risk management and accounting. The data feed provides access to unfiltered tick data, as well as interval-based bar data and end-of-day market data. “There are many financial firms which only offer real-time data to their clients, so we developed a historical data feed which can be plugged into their applications to supply their clients with data for charts and other analytics,” said Eero Pikat, President of Barchart. “Our historical service is on-demand, so users of it can request historical data when they need it directly from our servers and receive it instantly,” added Pikat. Barchart’s historical data inventory is extensive, covering futures, stocks, indices, forex and funds. The breadth of coverage extends back to 1-year for complete tick data, over 2-years for n-minute bar data, and back to contract inception for end-of-day futures data and to 1988 for stocks. As a web services based feed, Barchart’s historical data service requires minimal development to integrate into third-party applications and systems. The service is entirely managed and hosted by Barchart, so clients do not need to maintain any historical market data. To learn more, visit www.barchartmarketdata.com.
